Preparing for the changes in moderation at KS1

Outline

25% of schools are moderated every year, it is important that your school is fully prepared; Emma Blackman moderated 25% of the schools in Bexley last year, and along with a teacher who was successfully moderated last year, want to share the experience with you.

Description

This course is a repeat of the course ran on the Tuesday 2nd October 2018.
This course will help you to prepare for end of key stage one assessments. It will ensure that you are clear about what each of the assessment statements mean and the difference between what is expected at pre-skill foundation, working below, working at and greater depth. Emma Blackman will share examples of good practice that they have gathered from 2016 and 2017 moderation, so you will be very clear what it will look like in your pupils' books. The year 2 teacher will share their experience and expertise of preparing for moderation at KS1.

Outcomes

You will have a clear understanding of the assessment statements and what it looks like in practice; you will come away with examples that you can use in your own classroom.
